Getting Back to Filming....

My daughters and I have been involved in an Independent movie for about the last year. We finish up filming this summer. It is a sci-fi thriller and sometimes quite scary...but its been alot of fun. The name of the movie is Giest. It is about a man who wakes up and finds himself in an empty asylum and not sure how he got there. While there he comes on some childrens spirits and he helps them to escape "The Butcher".

Kier and the director Eric.....I promise he is not as scary as he looks here....he is very talented and humorous

The Kirkbride building where we shot the movie.

A view from the back....can you believe they want to tear this historic building down...hopefully the efforts from this movie will keep it from happening.

In the tunnel

Kier between takes...we had some time so we took some pictures...love this one.

Lauren and Kier between takes

Lauren dead.

See she really isn't....she is really loving this movie...and the both have got the acting bug.
See

Kier playing Nicole

I just love this shot of Lauren

Getting ready to shoot Kier's scene. They are discussing how it will go down.
I know it is a fun way to spend summer vacation. We have alot of fun doing it and the people we work with are awesome. I will keep you posted on release dates and more pics as we finish filming.

Time for some R and R

Dan and I have been working on our new home trying to get it ready to move into before I go back to work in August. On Sunday I just couldn't do anymore and sat down on the deck and told him I needed a break so let's go the lake. He agreed so we called it a day, packed it all up, ran home grabbed my camera and he grabbed his binoculars and we headed to Lake Elsie. It was exactly what we needed.
Here are some future catails....kind of makes me wish for fall.
There is this garden plot, learning center place where we were sitting and they had some wheat growing...I couldn't resist the picture.
Here is the Veteran's Memorial....I think it beautiful and a good reminder of those who fought to give us the wonderful place to live.
Here is some nostalgia....and old abandoned farm site just across the lake from where we were. I love taking pictures of old sites like this.

Merry Christmas....the day after and the Community Pickle Jar!!

Sorry I haven't written in awhile....but I'm back at it now.  I want to add my recipes and photos along with my crazy family life....it isn't all bad...its actually a lot of fun. I hope you had a fantastic Christmas. I know I did even with all the driving in the last three days. I had a wonderful day with my youngest son yesterday and my other five members of my family the day before. My oldest daughter and son are quite the tricksters. You never know what's going to happen at Christmas time. This year was ULTIMATE!!!
Lauren was going to get Jordan this year good.  My son Jordan love's pickles and not just any pickle. He loves Milwakee Pickles so he gets a jar for Christmas. (kind of a family joke) This year Lauren is going to get him good...she emptied out a jar filled it half full with Mountain Dew and garlic. Then she wrapped it up. On the way down to Jordan's house he calls me and tells me "I'm giving Lauren and empty milk jug for Christmas." I started laughing and right away Lauren says "Ok, whats he doing to me..." Anyway we are opening gifts and they get to the "prank" gifts. Lauren opened her milk jug and hugged it and said it was her favoritest gift of all time. Then Jordan opened his pickle jar and read's the note Lauren left for him. It said "The pickles were good, but me being the saint I am left you the pickle juice. Sincerely, Lauren. He opened the jar and took a drink.....and ...."It's Mountain Dew!!!!". Gotta love it!! She got him hook, line, and sinker....then she says...."Looks like I won this year!!!"
Gotta love Family. I will post the video when as soon as I can. Hope your holidays are going well.
Talk soon,
Kris

Will Spring Ever Come...

Well I had an interesting trip home from work yesterday...Rain, sleet, fog, snow and slushy roads oh yeah and don't forget the thunder....I think old man winter forgot that spring is here...where I saw grass is now a foot of the white stuff...and it is still falling and blowing...suprisingly, I don't think it is too cold out, thankfully. I knew at 6:30 there was no school where I work and the girl's school day was cancelled by 8:00.  I don't know, what do you think is March going out like a lamb or lion?????
When my oldest daughter got up this morning she comes running in my room "Mom its 7:56 we are gonna be late!!!" I looked at her and told her that school's cancelled and then said "Oh" turns around and crawls back in bed.....hmm...typical teenager...haven't heard from her since.

Sunshine.....Daylight Savings.....Means one step closer to Spring!!!

I woke up this morning expecting the wind and snow we have had for the last two days.  I'm so ready for spring. It is sunny out....FINALLY!  It is also Sunday and I was hoping to sleep in a bit. Well, Megan my dog who thinks she is a kid had other plans. Just like a little kid she stood beside my bed and in my face. I want to go outside, I NEEED to go outside NOWWWW....Get UPPPPP. I look in the room across the hall and sure enough both of my daughters are sound asleep looking all sweet and innocent. So i get out of bed and drag myself down stairs and go outside with her. Megan does her job and sees a bird...Oh NO YOU DON'T...I holler at her and we come in. I snuggle up in my bed with my book and a half hour later we are back outside again. Gotta love dogs.

Welcome to my crazy life!!!!

Hi everyone....I'm Kris and I am welcoming you to my crazy life. I am a mom to 4 wonderful but very entertaining kids. Also in this sometimes chaotic family is our dog Megan who seems to think she is a kid instead of a dog and then there is Jersey our insane cat who i swear has major issues. I am also a teacher. I love what I do and couldn't have chosen a better career. There is rarely a dull moment in my life. Soooo I hope you enjoy a day in my shoes.
